Is there a way to stop backlight from turning on with text notifications?

I am on multiple group chats, and the constant lighting up of the backlight on my Fenix 6 is getting to be a bit much. Besides do not disturb, is there any way to block the light up feature?

System> Backlight> During/Not During Activity> Alerts = Off

This disables backlight all together… I think the OP is looking to ONLY disable the smart notifications.

No, this would still leave backlight activated by gesture, or by keys.

Other alternatives would be to turn off all smart notifications. Phone> Smart Notifications = Off. Note this stops all smart notifications, not just the backlight.

Or you can go to Garmin Connect Mobile, and select which apps send notifications to the watch (deselecting the group chat app).
