PULSE OX READINGS OF GARMIN FENIX 6X IS 5% UNDER REALITY

I feel really disapointed on 2 problems with Pulse OX Oximeter

1. There is a huge difference between the fenix and the reality. The fenix is 5% lower than real

2. I bought the watch with ox meter in order to control better my ox saturation. And ot wpuld be very interesting to be able to activate an alarm in case of low ox meter, which would have to be able to modificate. For example, for me on a real and correct measurement I would like to have an alarm if I'm below 92% for more than 1 hour.

The measurement only works when you are not moving. I always have very realistic values (f6x sapphire) regarding my finger pulse ox meter. When do you measure and what is your reference device?

How do you intend to control your oxygen saturation? Do you mean measure? Under normal conditions there is sufficient oxygen in the air to properly saturate the blood. It’s not easily controlled externally.

This watch is not intended for medical purposes. If you have a medical issue that requires you to have accurate oxygen saturation measurements then you need to get hold of a certified device.

So, if you want to know accurate pulse ox reading you have tu buy a certified device, if you need accurate HR reading you have to wear a chest strap, if you need an accurate gps tracking you have to use your phone... so, except to read the time, is there anything that we can measure in accurate way with this watch?

There are also threads. The time synchronization was wrong at first. Garmin has since corrected it

Tips for Erratic Pulse Oximeter Data

If the pulse oximeter data is erratic or does not appear, you can try these tips.

Remain motionless while the device reads your blood oxygen saturation.
Wear the device above your wrist bone. The device should be snug but comfortable.
Hold the arm wearing the device at heart level while the device reads your blood oxygen saturation.
Use a silicone band.
Clean and dry your arm before putting on the device.
Avoid wearing sunscreen, lotion, and insect repellent under the device.
Avoid scratching the optical sensor on the back of the device.
Rinse the device with fresh water after each workout.

Do those and you'll see accurate results.

I had a doctor's appointment two days ago. Prior to seeing the doctor, a nurse was taking my vidals. I asked what HR she was getting. She said 67 and my HR widget was bouncing between 67-68. She asked me if my watch read oxygen saturation. I said yes, but I have it set to check manually. I checked and my watch read 97%, same as she got. So, it appears to be working well for me.
