Thanks, Chris. I like being notified of updates, I just don’t want to be notified of updates not relevant to me - do I need to install the 27 non-English language updates?

Since Garmin Express was designed to keep our products up to date with software and map updates, you won't be able to stop Garmin Express from showing you when updates are pending, but you can change your Garmin Express settings so it stops running in the background of your computer. When you are intending to update or sync your watch, you can open it again.
Open Garmin Express on your computer then go to:
Windows > Select the Settings icon on the top right to the left of the question mark > General > Uncheck the always keep Garmin Express running in the background
Mac > Select Garmin Express on the top left of your menu bar, Preferences > Uncheck the box to stop Garmin Express from running in the background

You don’t need to update but they’ll always be there to be installed. So might as well install them. Only takes a moment.
