Watch reseting Max HR and HR zones

Hi,

I have max HR detection enabled,  RHR set as default (average), and zones set as %HRR, but noticed 2 issues:

- I'm not sure how max HR detection works, but the watch doesn't seem to adjust it even after workout had higher max HR than default (190 vs 184 for me). Moreover, even when I manually set max HR to 190, it seems that the watch resets it to 184 after some time.

- When the happens, it seems the watch also resets zones to be based on %Max HR than %HRR, which is annoying as I only notice this once I'm already in middle of workout.

I just turned off max HR detection and will see if that helps, but still, it would be nice if this worked properly without any hacks.

I have exactly the same problem. Max HR detection setting doesn't affect. It's the same thing with ON and OFF. I have to set max HR manually several times a day in order to keep correct HR zones. At least firmware v. 6.0.0.0 has this issue on Fenix 6X Pro

  • Set your zones in Garmin Connect (preferrably the web version), and then let that sync to the watch.

The order of precedence for zones in Garmin Connect (web) > Garmin Connect Mobile> Watch.

I don't believe that is the issue, mcalista. I checked Garmin Connect Mobile just after I noticed my watch has reset heart zones this morning, and Garmin Connect Mobile still had it correct. I just checked Garmin Connect (web) and it has it correct as well.

  • SET the zones in Garmin Connect, and let that cascade down to the watch via a sync, don't just "check" them. If this means setting an incorrect zone in GC and syncing, then correcting the zones, then you should do this.

  • I have the exact same problem... GC always has my correct max HR and LTHR and Zones set based on LTHR in accordance with my preference, but my watch consistently resets zones based on Max HR which I do not want.... Very annoying to realize zones are incorrect mid workout.

I also noticed the watch does not record HR max and lactic threshold when you use the WHR. You have to use an external sensor to mesure and record these values automaticly. I also confirm that the HR Zones have been reseted several times by my F6...

  • Same problem, very old problem also.

I actually got figured this out. It indeed work's  when you set it in the mobile app, but there definitely is a bug. My mistake was that I first set my max HR from the watch. It sync'd it from there to mobile app and web. And in mobile app and web it stayed correct, but in the clock it returned to the default multiple times a day. It didn't even come to my mind to correct something in mobile app that was already correct, but then I tested this and changed my max HR from mobile app to some random number and synced. Verified that it was that same random number in clock also. After that I set the right max HR in mobile app and after syncing it has stayed. 10 days now. So there definitely is a bug and mobile app is overwriting something hidden value to the clock. Just be sure to not change anything from the clock. Always from web/mobile app until Garmin get these sync issues fixed
