Fenix 6 pro - running ‘pace’

Just upgraded from forerunner to fenix 6, whilst a great watch, I have to agree with the many comments about running ‘pace’ - it’s all over the place. I’m running at a steady pace & it can shift from 7.40 mile pace to 11...this is useless to me, worse still very frustrating when putting effort in. Why does my 6 yr forerunner give accurate, timely pace data...come on Garmin???

I‘m using a rolling average pace data field from the IQ store. That irons out any sudden pace changes.

Which app are you using from the IQ store?

Current pace was never something to rely on with GPS watches but it's true that older models weren't as all over the place as the newer ones. Lap pace however was a reliable data field - it used to converge nicely after about 200m and stay reliable for the rest of the 1km lap. This stopped to work well starting with the FR645 for me and was never the same again in new devices.

I gave up and bought a Stryd so now my watch is basically a large monitor for showing Stryd and HR strap data during runs.
