Garmin 6X Sapphire - issues with altimeter and Barometer calibration failed.

Garmin 6X Sapphire - issues with altimeter and Barometer calibration failed. Tried multiple times to calibrate, factory reset, updated multiple times to most updated software in Garmin Express. Altimeter freezes to last recorded elevation and no movement thereafter. Any help possible from Garmin? To add to all this, moving pace is not displayed in Garmin connect and Vo2 maz shows 6 days old data.

Please contact your Garmin Support for Indonesia. Unfortunately, if you cannot calibrate, it is a hardware failure of your barometric altimeter.

Can you elaborate on your related settings? e.g. auto-calibrate, ...

Thank you for offering to help. My Altimeter is set to Auto calibrate - continuous during activity and off - "Not during Activity". When I calibrate manually, I enter elevation based on my Iphone compass. I have tried updating elevation using DEM and GPS, both does not work. Similarly for Barometer, I have tried to use DEM and GPS (outside my home). GPS signal catches pretty soon, but calibration failed message appears. I am based in Indonesia and have Asia version of 6X.

How is watch mode set? Auto/Altimeer/Barometer?

Please contact your Garmin Support for Indonesia. Unfortunately, if you cannot calibrate, it is a hardware failure of your barometric altimeter.

Watch mode is set to auto. I changed to this setting for the last one week. I have been trying to work on different options for the watch mode setting. Does this make a difference?

Calibration is independent of the auto-calibration settings.

As noted, the fact that your are getting 'Calibration Failed' messages suggests a problem with the hardware.

BTW, I've never seen that message on any watch.

I am sorry there is an issue.

When your altimeter or barometer fails to calibrate, the sensor has hardware failed and your watch will need to be exchanged through Outdoor Product Support in your region.
