Saved Activities Showing Wrong Units

Whenever my F6 Pro reboots all saved activities on the watch change from miles to a combination of yards and kilometers.  Through trial and error I have found calibrating the altimeter corrects the problem until next reboot.

After updating to v6.00 this morning, I reset to default settings hoping that would solve the problem but it has not.  Garmin support has been very good about working with me but as of yet, has not been able to re-create or fix the issue.  I figured I’d just put this out here to see if anyone has experienced the same or may have any insights. Thanks.

sorry to hear about your mishap

could you summarize the steps already taken with help of Garmin Support

saves a lot of time finding the culprit

    0) installed maps ?

    0) how many fit files in your ACTIVITY folder

    0) you see the units only via the widgets

    0) you see the units also during an active activity

    0) kill all connections with bluetooth, restart watch, result is ?

    0) check for faulty fit files in ACTIVITY folder

    0) clean REMOTESW folder

    0) clean NEWFILES folder

    0) backup & clean ACTIVITY folder

    0) check settings on Garmin Connect Web, Garmin Connect Mobile, Garmin

    0) and drastic,  device reset (everything !)

You will need to delete the folders listed below:
(Please note that this will get rid of all saved activities currently on the device that has not synced over to connect.)

        Activity
        Settings
        Monitor
        NEWFILES
        REMOTESW

restart watch (folders will be created by the watch)

The fix seems to be to set units to kilometers then back to miles and it will reset.

  • The only thing I've done with Garmin is to send them a copy of my activity folder.

The only maps installed are the ones that came with the watch. Units are correct during the activity.  Rebooting the watch is what triggers the problem.  Phone has been rebooted often.  All settings are correct on watch, GCM and GCW.

I reset all defaults this morning to no avail.  Thanks for your help!  I'll set to km and back but with the temporary solution I found, the problem comes back on a reboot of the watch.

    could you please check again

this time, first close(deactivate) all bluetooth connections on watch before restart

    0) kill all connections with bluetooth, restart watch, result is ?

most likely a teeny tiny Garmin buggy Slight smile

    0) one more and last one....turn off widget glances and check again

because the fix you did with calibrate altimeter is weird on it's own

  •  I have toggled from miles to kilometers and back to miles. I have rebooted the watch multiple times by doing a soft resets and powered off from the controls dial and the problem has not returned!  It will be interesting to see if the issue occurs again after the next firmware update. Thanks!
