Fenix 6 and Powerbeats Pro - volume rocker not working

I've been using the Fenix 6S with the Powerbeats Pro for some time, but lately I have noticed that the volume rocker has stopped working when they are paired with my Fenix 6S. Has anyone else found this? It's not a physical fault with the headphones as the volume rocker works fine when paired with my iPhone. It used to work with the watch. It's pretty annoying since the volume rocker was one of the main reasons for buying these headphones. Now I have the AirPods Pro I may just use them for running instead and sell my Powerbeats Pro.

  • Might be worth checking your firmware this morning. Today my Powerbeats have changed from 2C48 and now on 2D17. Low and behold rocker volume is working. I returned a set of Powerbeats Pros which were on 2C48 as I got fed up with them not always charging in the case. These were on 2C48. Fingers crossed its available for the Powerbeat Pros also.  Can force an update via the online Beats updater.

My worry is for how long is the fix! only takes another update and backwards we go again

  • Nothing for Powerbeats pro yet.

"Your software is up to date and running v 2C48"/

  • The firmware can update quite seamlessly if you have them connected to a smartphone with the Beats app installed. You may also have a later firmware installed from factory if your PowerBeats are newer than December 2019.

While I cannot technically tell the root cause of the problem ... What I do know is that the volume rocker on my PowerBeats Pro worked perfectly before the upgrade to 2c48 firmware that was released in December 2019 (if I recall the date correctly). After: Not so much.

Working on 9.92, it took awhile, but finally.

    Thanks.

I was just updated that we expect the resolution for this Powerbeats volume rocker adjustment Issue to be during the month of July. Other than the good news, I do not have specifics as to what form the resolution fix will be in.

Thank you to all of you for your patience through this frustrating bug. We greatly appreciate it.

So you mean in a regular firmware release. I’ve just tested and it’s working.

  • With the recently released beta version? That's great news.

Hello. Am I reading correctly that you updated to a beta Garmin firmware for the Fenix and the PowerBeats Pro volume rocker is now working?  If so, would you mind sharing pointers as to how I can identify and hard push through the beta update?  Thanks!!

Just download the beta software from the thread at the top of the forum, then install it onto your watch.
