Problem updating to FW 6.0

When I connect my F6 to Garmin Express, I get notified there's an update and after I sync, it shows Version 6.00

But when I unplug my watch, there's no prompt to complete the software update as with past updates. In addition, when I go into Software Update, there's no indication of 6.0 there and when I go to About, it shows Software Version 5.0 with Sensor Hub still at 3.1 (GPS is 2.7 but that was updated separately already earlier this week)

I've tried repeating after power cycling and resetting the watch and also rebooting my Mac but no luck.

Am I missing anything? Any tips appreciated

  • I just upgraded my 6X Pro Solar from 5.77 beta to 6.00 with Garmin Express on my Windows 10 laptop and the update went without a hitch. Everything as normal - connect USB cord, sync, disconnect, confirm software update install at prompt on watch, wait a couple of minutes for install and reboot and all done. Watch shows Software Version 6.00, GPS 2.70, Hub 4.20.

I'm afraid I have no experience of the Mac side of things, but all good here in Windows land in terms of software versions. Whether everything now works as expected - HR, GPS etc. - is yet to be confirmed.

  • Just done the update on my seven years old Mac book air.

    Same process as usual.

On Garmin Express : When you are prompted to install the new update after GE checks the update on the internet. Then you need to accept the terms and conditions before the installation starts.
One minutes later you need to unplug your watch to continue as required by Garmin Express.

Once unplugged the watch proposes to install the update. Push the 2 o Clock button to accept.
    Then it get installed.

    All fine.
