Livetracking

Apologies for the basic question, but i cant find the answer anywhere: in order for livetrack to work during an activity with a Fenix 6, is it still necessary to have to connected to a phone? My objective is to run without carrying my phone, yet still be visible for my family at home.

If this is not possible, are you aware of any plans in this direction?

Yes, the mechanism is F6 <-> BT <-> Phone <-> Mobile Service Provider.

'are you aware of any plans in this direction?' : This will require connectivity, so either via Sat or Mobile (Ext or Int, eg SIM etc)

There has been rumors of LTE versions of their devices which might give you possibility to do live tracking without a phone.

There is the VA3 that is available with LTE on Verizon
