I've just had an email about Tactix Delta watch
https://buy.garmin.com/en-GB/GB/p/696005
It's £50 more than the DLC Saphire 6X

Anyone know the difference ?

You can use the 6X Pro beta firmware without loss of TD specific features.
It's the same as the 6x Pro Sapphire with the addition of:
- Stealth Mode
- Night Vision Mode
- Kill Switch
- Dual Grid Coordinates
- Jumpmaster App
- Knurled buttons

Somebody forgot Domed Sapphire, like the MARQ. I believe the F6X uses flat sapphire. Domed should cut down on glare.
The Delta is the Charlie upgrade, so it has a Kill Switch to erase data and the ability to use Night Vision. Otherwise, it’s like a 6x with DLC bezel and Sapphire Crystal.

Thanks both for the useful feedback.

6X also has Jumpmaster.
EDIT - its Tactical mode won't display dual coordinates and it has no MGRS option in settings.
The dual-coordinate datascreen can be used for other things like position coords + destination coords, or a graphical compass rose heading.

But the Fenix 6 can use dual-grid coordinates, right? And we also have the Jumpmaster app. Stealth mode is basically the same thing as Airplane mode.
So for $50 more, you're basically getting night-vision mode, a killswitch, and knurled buttons. I guess that's cool stuff if you're a Navy SEAL or a CIA spy, but otherwise I don't see how there's much of a consumer market for this.
Edit: I see domed sapphire lens mentioned above now, so I guess there's at least one difference that's perhaps useful to us normal folk. I prefer the flat lens myself, but having the option for domed is neat.

A few mall-ninjas will buy the Tactix series but the primary market is military personnel who want to use an F6X in field but wouldn't be allowed for lack of those Tactix -specific features.
I've read some operators strongly prefer the Tactix line's Tactical-mode dual-coordinate data-screen over a carrying a separate DAGR.
EDIT - I can't get an F6 to display dual coordinates. MGRS isn't an option at all on my watch.
If you go back in Fenix History, the Tactix is the true Fenix.
The old ones also had night vision compatibility and tactical modes.
we also get turn-by-turn orders with headphones. Hoping for an update on fenix 6.
Garmin Compare: tactix Charlie vs tactix Delta
Yikes. Looking at some of the physical aspects, it got 7g heavier and had some significant material changes. Going from titanium to steel and its $150 more? I also don't like the 90 degree angles on the bezel. The angled bezels on the tC and Marq Commander look way better.
I'm glad they kept the 24 hour bezel (l like it and use it on my tC), but going from hour to minute markers on the Delta watchface is rough. Its like the tD was kneecapped to make the Marq Commander look better, which it does!
As somebody in the military who does use these functions both in garrison and the field, I'm a bit disappointed in this release. I'll be keeping my tC and see where the Instinct is at if this one ever dies or I am assigned somewhere where I need the stealth and data deletion features.
