Fenix 6 silver battery not charging fully

Hi, I saw a strange behaviour with my Fenix 6 Silver, on the last times of charging.

It would not go to 100% percent. It stops at 96, or 97%. It won't go higher.

I just need to know whether this is a (new) feature (battery over charge protection, long time protection etc) or a bug in the form of showing just wrong percentage digits.

Anyone encountered this behaviour?

Same here, it happens to me with some powerbanks - I think the watch draws so little power once it gets up to a certain charge, that some chargers think nothing is connected and stop delivering power.

Go into the service menu, and have a look at the battery voltage and % :

Service menu: Switch off and wait for couple seconds. While holding DOWN button press LIGHT button until Garmin logo appears, then…

That's, of course, an issue with the charger and not the watch.

All of my chargers have at least 2 USB ports in them, so my solution for if/when my charger stops delivering power to my watch, I plug my phone (or anything else) into another USB port on the charger, and the charger starts delivering power to both the watch and the other device.

The best all-around solution is to just charge your watch on your computer's USB port, because it delivers power to the ports regardless of what is or isn't plugged into them. I think that is part of the reason why Garmin's official recommendation is to charge our watches using a computer USB port.

Are you saying that when your watch reaches 100% charge it reboots? That shouldn't happen. I know mine doesn't do that when it's connected to the computer with GE running..

I assume you mean connected to Garmin Express on a computer.

You are totally right, I only get this behavior only when I am charging from the Powerbank. I often charge from the Powerbank.

Next time I'll do it on a 1amp wall charger or PC USB port. Thank you

100% Charge should be at 4,20V

Nope let say that plugging my watch to the USB of a computer changed it watchface into a big green pie chart graphic showing the level of battery and when unplugged it loads the maps.
I don't have that behavior when I plug the watch on a powerbank or on a wall charger. :-)

I don’t know if its the same, but at the Edge 810 :

turn device off

hold start-stop buttom while turn it on. May take a few second till ~ 30 seconds untill service menu appears.

That's usual behaviour and not a reboot of the watch.
