I never had any issues before, so hopefully it stays that way 
I received the update last night. Let's see if there is any impact on performance. Actually I had no issues with GPS performance.
I had the GPS fix issue. Received the update this morning. Just tested a bit and problems spear to be solved. Less than 10 sec to GPS fix and hiking track accuracy seemed okay. Happy again.

Do you have a Fenix 6 series, as no notice of the update for F6?

It's common that Garmin pushes new releases in batches. Normally it takes a couple of days until all devices gets the new version.
For some reason it seems like I'm always in the last batch 
Consider it as a good thing. If something goes wrong you probably won't be affected
