Long acquiring time

Yes, I have read the sticky post at the top.

My Pro 6 requires a very long time before satellite signal is acquired and tracks are quit wobbly when there finally is signal. Aren't the more people that have this problem?

I am surprised by the absence of attention for this problem. Or is it just my Fenix suffering?

@Garmin when can we expect the fix? The watch is pretty useless at this time!

try to sync with the garmin express and not with the connect mobile - and it should work. i guess there's a bug with gcm and the epo file is not sent to the watch - hence the long time for acquiring satellites…

try to sync with the garmin express and not with the connect mobile - and it should work. i guess there's a bug with gcm and the epo file is not sent to the watch - hence the long time for acquiring satellites. once the epo file is synced or the catalog gets downloaded during the time when your watch is doing the 'gps soaking' - the next time you'll start an activity, gps lock will take about 10-20 seconds.

There may well be more people with the same problem. But that's why Garmin made the sticky post at the top.

tsofron With the new Sony chipsets the ephemeris file is now a CPE file.

You can check the status of the CPE file by going into Settings, About, and scrolling all the way to the end. If it's showing as anything other than current either try connecting to Garmin Express and synching to see if that changes it or follow the instructions in the sticky post.

Recent GPS update seems to solve the problems I had. Happy again.
