Fenix 6X pro solar Navigation (Around Me)

When going to Navigation then I go the Around me. Nothing loads up it just stays Loading Map and nothing happens. Also when I go to Points of Interest Food or Drinks it does not shows nothing and its just stays searching. Sometimes when I press the back button that watch would turn off and on. This starting happening when I uploaded the lates maps from garmin express. I have all maps enabled and detail high. Never had this issue with my F5X

Does anyone here having the same issues?

    I had the same problem, so I experimented. After all the testing, I determined it was related to the DEM maps installed. So being here in the States, I deleted the DEM Maps in the /Garmin folder and then reinstalled the TOPO maps via GE. After that, instead of a blank screen or 60 seconds to load the Around Me places, it now takes roughly 7-9 seconds.

    When you re-download the TOPO maps, the DEM maps come with them. If you just delete the DEM maps and don’t download them again, it will effect the DEM option for Alt. calibration.

    Once you download the TOPO maps agin, you should see that the “Around Me” feature is much faster.

    The around me feature is searching on all installed maps, no matter, if they are enabled or not. If additional maps are installed, the search took longer (the more maps the longer).

    Sometimes, after a map update (especially the Topo active maps + DEM map), the around me feature is very slow (or even searching forever...), so the hint from Oldie21 is very useful. Have had the same experiences.

    Just got lastest EU 2020.10 maps - and my F6x Pro Solar is doing the same. I do not have any additional maps install. 

    Anybody else have "Around Me" hanging. It can't be right we have to manually delete parts of maps to get them to work. That is just crazy...

    I had something similar happen to me twice with my 945, six months apart from each other.  If I selected around me using the map app, it would hang and not load. If I was using the navigate app it worked fine. I found my problem was selecting north up and not track up for orientation. Using track up solved the problem. Not everyone had this problem and the next FW update I received corrected it both times. I'm not sure why this happened. Does trying this work for you?

    I am in Australia and have always had the following maps on the Fenix 6X Pro
    Worldwide DEM Basemap
    TopoActive AUS/NZ
    Garmin Ski
    TopoActive Africa North
    TopoActive Africa South

    When I tried the Around Me feature it always took 30 mins.
    I havent tried re-installing all the maps, but I did manage to figure out by trial and error which were the Africa map files.

    gmapprom2.gma TopoAfrica North
    gmapprom2.img TopoAfrica North
    D7174020A.gma TopoAfrica South
    D7174020A.img TopoAfrica South

    I moved them to another folder I created.
    They no longer appear in the Map settings and now the Around me feature takes 30 secs.

    Note: Before I moved the Africa Maps, I had them disabled, but Around Me still took 30 mins.
