Fenix 6 Series - FW new features (disable all wireless during sleep)

Can we expect a simple function that improves battery life, and has a positive impact on our health?

Added support to auto disable all wireless communication namely Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and ANT during Sleep

I don't know about You but I often have my hand next to my head, and I would not want the Fenix send information to the phone or the network unnecessarily at night.

The tiny amount of Bluetooth data transmitted from the watch is not physically capable of harming you in any way. Might help battery life, though not significantly - think how long a Bluetooth HRM can…

I changed everything (pulse works, oxygenation works, activity works, the rest is off). Will sleep tracking continue to work?

You can also manually enable the airplane mode, which was added some fw versions ago.

Added support for Airplane Mode, which allows the user to disconnect from all wireless communication namely Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and ANT. (Hold Light > Controls > Hold Up > Add Controls > Airplane Mode)

This was introduced as one of the new features with software release 5. Sleep tracking is working here.

That's a separate issue and not due to using Battery Save mode overnight. Contact Garmin Support for that. It's likely a backend issue.

My advice would be to find something else to worry about.

If you have a Do Not Disturb set, use Battery Saver to shut down optional settings. I usually have PulseOx set to monitor during sleep but I turned it off for my first test.

I’ve been testing this new Battery Saver during sleep and have liked the results so far:

Light on Activities but set for Smart Notifications during the day. Battery saver connected with DND from 9:15pm - 6:15am.
