Yeah, that's why I asked, I should've mentioned that in my original question that the compatibility list does NOT show Fenix 5X or 6X as compatible.

Looking at the pictures, it seems that the MK1 uses the same case as the Fenix 5X but it is impossible to say for sure based on the pictures Garmin uses on their website -- the linked picture is a render and not a photo, but it seems like the Fenix 6X should be compatible:
