Abnormal battery drain

Hello,

I have had my Fenix 6 Pro for about a month and a half now, and it's a great device. The only problem I'm having is with battery life: my old Fenix 5 used to last 15 days with normal use, and this is what I was expecting from the 6 Pro... instead I'm having to charge it every 6-7 days.

I have disabled Wifi, music and normally keep bluetooth pairing with my phone off other than when I'm commuting (about 2 hours per day). I have HR detection on.

This is the exact same usage of my old Fenix 5... why am I getting 0.434%/h battery drain then? Is there any setting I might have missed? Could the battery possibly be faulty?

I remember the battery and for the moment only my configurations mean that I do not respect Garmin's estimates. Map display, use of music or sensors. In short, for the moment I do not find that my Garmin watch has a problem.

Same problem here after updating to FW 11.10. for me I figured out that the massive battery drain (between 1 and 2% per hour) had to do with bluetooth connection or one of the other updated sensors. When turning the watch in airplane mode, battery usage seems to be normal.

For me I solved (hope so...) the problem by doing a complete factory reset with deleting all data from the watch and doing a firmware downgrade. After this I upgraded again to 11.10 via Garmin Express. After this, the watch lost only 2% of battery life in the last 14 hours. So hopefully this torture solved the problem for me...

I had issues with 11.10. I deleted GarminDevice.XML, reboot watch and now I am getting 2% drain approx every 24 hours. with most things off. Exactly like it was when I bought it a few months ago.

Something is seriously screwed up with 11.10.

BTW what did you downgrade to, and how ?.

I may try that because now my music playback is screwed up. Funny that as thats one of the things they were meant to be enhancing.

Deleting the GarminDevice.XML didn't solve the problem for me, so I've tried resetting, down- and upgrading.

For downgrading I've used the latest Beta for my Fenix. In each Beta software Garmin includes the last stable firmware file, so that you can do a downgrade, if the Beta software causes problems.

For downgrading you have to connect your watch with a computer and copy the file with the last stable software into the Garmin-folder on your watch. After disconnecting the watch from your computer, the watch asks you, if you want to install the "new" old firmware. After this, the watch does a reboot and downgrades the firmware.

But: downgrading your watch will always cause a complete reset of the watch.

Hi mates,

most of the time, the culprit is the bluetooth connection,

what you can try:

Open Garmin Connect
open your device (top right icon)
long press on your device picture
press "restore connection"
Sync your device/phone

other way:

Turn off your device and your phone
wait for 5 min
turn on both of them

I’ve tried that too along with factory reset. The watch is only 10 days old looks like it will be going back.

Any update on battery drain issue ? My Fenix 6x pro solar have been draining battery really fast since last update too, tried hard reset with no luck. Deleted garmindevice.xml and restarted and fully charged the watch, will see how that goes. Guess GARMIN will release new update fixing this issue right ?

Any update on battery drain issue? On same boat :(. Usual setting witch holds more than week, now hold about 3 days :(. Battery drain 1.8% per hour.
