My "autolaps" while skiing doesn't make sense....

I did my first Nordic xc skiing training today. I was a bit puzzled to see that laps came every 1.6km, not every 1km,whichwwould make more sense. I have every setting in Garmin Connect, and on my 6x, in metrics, so why would each lap on my map show as 1.6km?

I can't remember ever setting this manually (where do I do that btw), and do not understand why laps would be every 1.6km? Anyone?

Btw; I'm on SW 5.0.

  • Hi ,

This is a known bug that we haven't gotten fixed yet, sorry about that. However, there is an easy resolution! Press the Start button on your watch to open the activities list. Hover over the XC Ski app in the list, and press and hold the menu button. Open the option for XC Ski Settings, and scroll all the way to the bottom and select Restore Defaults.

You can then confirm that this has resolved the issue by scrolling back up this menu to the "Auto Lap" setting, which will now say 1KM.

This bug occurs when changing the units settings on the device from Statute to Metric. We are leaving the Ski auto-lap distance as 1 mile but changing the units to KM (giving a value of 1.6km). But we should be maintaining the value of 1 and only changing the units.

I've escalated this bug report since you have seen the issue as well.

    Thanks,
