Adding Blood pressure tracking into Connect app

Hi all,

would you also like to see blood pressure tracking options added into Connect app?

I know it is not core of Garmin, but as we already collect data as weight, hydration, I guess adding Blood pressure tracking would not be hard, but would enable users to use only one app, not multiple.

Thnx

  • I think that the only way to enter BF% is via the Garmin Index Smart Scale

Probably pulling the data from the Health app, which would acquire it from devices/apps that support BP monitoring, such as Withings.

  • Health Stats > Weight. Under the 7-day, 4-week, and 12 month tabs, there's a bunch of stats for Body Fat %, skeletal muscle mass, bone mass, body water... But all the stats are blank, and there doesn't seem to be any way to input this info. LEon82 may be correct, that it may require a Garmin Smart Scale

  • I only have weight and BMI on GCM (iOS) and GC interweb.

Agreed is probably correct that you need a Smart Scale.

Negative.  If you update weight under settings->user settings in Connect, the changes will be shown (and graphed) under Health Stats->Weight.  Edit: Nevermind, only weight and BMI

  • There is an app available for Android called "Weight logger", which lets you enter data on the phone, and then sync the data to your GC account. Works like a charm. Obviously, it doesn't matter where the data comes from. I use it with my Tanita BC 545 scale, measuring Weight, BodyFat%, Muscle mass (kg), Body water % Bone mass (kg), and calculating Visceral Fat factor, Physical evaluation and Metabolic age. One may question the quality of the three last parameters, but that's another discussion. BMI is probably calculated internally in GC.

I don't know if something similar exists for iPhone.

  • I've the Tanita Rd-953 and am aware of that app, but somehow I'm receiving an java error while trying to export . Any thoughts about what I'm doing wrong??

Edit solved! I had to go to Settings -> Apps - > Weight Logger -> Permissions and switch Storage to On. This allowed the app to write to storage and fixed my issue. Great, since I really like the Tanita Rd-53 but the app sucks big time.

Thanks for the reminder Slight smile

  • There is a setting in the app that lets you preload the last dataset when you're entering new  data. (saves some writing)
The error code indicates to me that the app can't read the last dataset.
If that doesn't help try to purge the data base, and after that it will be the good old reinstall app suggestion......

    Edit

Ahhh.... Or of course let the app write to yor storage.

  • It would be great to be able to enter blood pressure, like weight is entered, and then record/track over time.  I can do this in TrainingPeaks bit not here :-(
