Adding Blood pressure tracking into Connect app

Hi all,

would you also like to see blood pressure tracking options added into Connect app?

I know it is not core of Garmin, but as we already collect data as weight, hydration, I guess adding Blood pressure tracking would not be hard, but would enable users to use only one app, not multiple.

Thnx

  • Yes, I would like to historically track blood pressure using Garmin Connect App.

As this question was 2 years ago, it doesn't seem likely though.

  • Yes, I want to track my blood pressure readings. Maybe if people keep on asking for it they will make it available at some point in the future.

  • Best to ask for things here: www.garmin.com/.../

  • It would be great to have this ability even if you had to buy another piece of hardware to make it happen.

  • I have a Aktiia blood pressure monitor which detects blood pressure through an optical sensor.  Routine calibration against a medically approved cuff shows it to be reasonably accurate.  Also I notice the latest Samsung watch claims to do the same.

  • I may have replied on this thread before but I do not see the point.

Hyper-tension (high blood pressure) is a medical condition and the Fenix 6 is not a medical device and does not track this in any case,

Secondly, properly calibrated blood pressure monitor devices that you measure via bicep compression are readily available and cheap to buy - if it was me, rather than wait for Garmin to provide a solution to a problem which IMHO they should not even try to tackle, why not simply record this yourself in Google docs with whatever you measure your BP with if you think you need a daily record?

i guess I do not understand why folks want to track this on a sport platform that very clearly states is is not a medical platform and the devices are not medical devices or to be used for medical diagnosis - using the correct tools, it's easy to do this elsewhere if you need to. What is the point in wanting this integrated?

I think sometimes people wander into the realms of hypochondria without even realising this - if your blood pressure needs 'tracking' your Doctor should be the one doing it.

  • A BP monitor and app tracker feature would be a decision maker for me and my entire family when we upgrade current fitness watches. Thanks for working on the future of Garmin!
