When will thai text or any other asian languages be available in Fenix 6?

I just want to see Thai texts rather than "?" After a long search, this is happening to most of Asian languages. Customer service said that the only available language are displayed under "language file," but it shows "there are no additional language files available to install." He said that the watches from different regions will be able to read different languages, so watches from SEA will be able to display Asian languages whereas watches from North America region will not. I also found links to Chinese and Thai text update for Fenix 5.

Hi!

I bought a Garmin fenix 5 plus for my thai partner. Is it possible to get the thai language on the fenix 5 somehow? i bought it in europe as we live here but using it in thai would be much more comfortable for him...did it work for you in some way?

The language compatibility depends on the region model of the device. If you have a European model fenix 5 plus then it will not be able to display the Thai characters as the software is not compatible. An APAC model watch would be required as it uses a different software version that is able to display Thai characters.

And are there main differences between APAC systems and the western ones? like quality issues, less features etc?

Only different is that the updates to the apac models ( Thai) tends to come 3-6 months after the row (rest of the world) versions. I live in Thailand too, but buy my Garmin’s from Europe or USA.
