Gorilla Glass....How is yours holding up?

Hi everyone,

I have been using my Fenix 5+ Ti and an Instinct for some time and have had very good luck. No scratches whatsoever.

I picked up a Fenix 6X Pro with the Gorilla Glass the other week and I am STUNNED at the difference in the screen clarity!! I guess I never paid much attention before but the sapphire screen on the 5+ is always smudged and I have to constantly wipe it off with a t-shirt to see some of the screens.

Anyway, I’m a bit of a watch nut and haven’t bought too many watches without sapphire in recent memory.

Really just wanted to ask everyone how the Gorilla Glass is holding up for those of you that have devices with it (any model)?

That’s interesting. I had the exact opposite problem. Gorilla glass was very clear, but Jesus it was a smear magnet. I never could keep it clean. The sapphire seems like you can’t make it smear, it stays spotless and is very smooth. Like oil slick smooth. Your gorilla glass will hold up very well. It’s great stuff.

agree. I would have to say my sapphire 6x is quite clear and mostly spotfree.. more often than my 5x was.

mine is also holding up great, i like the lack of reflections on gorilla vs saphire. i also feel that the watch smudges less on the gorilla compared to my 5x sapphire. happy with my decision thus far.

I do not leave it to luck, I use a protector film and watch still looks great and do not pick up dust. Win-win!

3 months with the 6X Pro Gorilla Glass, not a single scratch on the glass. I had sapphire before and really, really enjoy the dark blacks and the clarity of the gorilla glass display.

Swapped my sapphire for solar and it's a significant upgrade in terms of the ability to read the watch. I'm not gonna say the upgrade was worth it to go solar, as I get very little value from that, but the visual quality would be worth a step down if you are questioning the sapphire clarity.

3 months of continuous wear and daily activities. Run/cycle/swim/trail runs etc. not a scratch on my 6 Pro (Gorilla). and every single time I look at it, it notice how much clearer (less reflection) it is than my prior Fenix that had Sapphire. The Sapphire is truly indestructible, but Gorilla glass is pretty good.
