Volume up/Dwn directly from Samsung Galaxy Buds not working when paired to watch

By the way, I just saw your other post. When I fired up my buds just now there was a firmware update for Bluetooth stability.

But, it seems that by default the buds connect via the right bud by preference and this can be a problem when the watch is worn, as it usually is, on the left wrist. You can switch wrists, which is annoying, or try to connect first to the left bud only. To do this take only the left bud from the case and close the lid and then connect the watch to that bud. Then remove the right bud and it should connect to the watch via the left bud.

I did this and it worked - at least on the Samsung buds.  Thank you Eezytiger.  Garmin needs to fix this problem.  It was frustrating because I have a pair of Samsung earbuds, Beats Wireless Pro, and some cheap no name brand ($25) that I purchased from Amazon and the best sound came from the no name brand.  The no name connects and stays connected, the other two fade in and out as I move my wrist around.  It is unacceptable that anyone  should have to move their watch to the right wrist when on the right or the left wrist the headset (buds...) are no more then four feet away from the watch.  I have the Fenix 6x pro with the latest update and it is ridiculous that a watch that costs this much has these petty problems.  Look forward to an update.  Anyway, I tried this and it worked, now the Samsung buds sound really awesome.

I don't have those ear buds but I do have bose soundsports.  Sometimes the volume or the double/triple click does not work.  With some trial and error I have found this happens if I pair before I open an activity like outdoor run. I always pair after I get a gps lock.  I have also found that I might need to turn the headphones off and then re-pair and the volume, buttons, etc work fine.  Maybe it will help you.

I will comment on this even though it is an old post since there are new comments.  I have a pair of Galaxy Buds (not the newest model).  I have zero problems with the sound cutting out no matter which bud I connect first or even if I only use one, and it doesn't matter which arm I wear my watch on (I have a Fenix 6S sapphire).  They never ever cut out.  The tap commands (pause, next song, previous song) all work perfectly.  The only things I cannot do with them while connected to my Garmin are the custom touch pad commands (volume and ambient sound).  Those do not work on the buds while connected to the watch.  Those ONLY work if my buds are connected to my phone and I am listening to music from the phone.  I honestly think that this is a Samsung issue and not something that Garmin can control, but I could be wrong about that since I really do not know.  But those custom settings don't seem to be saved in the buds, I think they are saved in the phone app, and I think that's why those functions do not work on the watch and everything else does.  For me, having to use the watch to control the volume is a small price to pay for the great sound of these buds.  If I need the volume down quickly I just tap and pause.  Maybe someday it'll work.  I wonder if the volume on the newest Galaxy Buds will work.

The buds have volume control but you configure that on the phone, a long press on the right bud is volume up, and on the left bud is volume down.  The ICON x, which I also have was very finicky getting the volume to work, it was a swipe up but it always confused that with play, pause.  I didn't realize the plus was out there. How do you control volume on the plus? and have you confirmed that it works when connected to Garmin F6?
