Amazon music player fix?

One of the reasons I chose the fenix 6 was the ability to play music without a phone. I'm in Norway on a deployment regularly out in the countryside without access to wifi.

Amazon music regularly denies me access to any music and playlists stored on the watch without having to constantly sync over wifi.

I can do this through hotspotting with my phone, but this takes anywhere upto three hours, who knows how much data and about 15% of the battery.

It almost renders the idea of a music playing, expedition ready watch pointless if I'm needing to update on wifi every  time I want to listen to music.

If it is a matter of licensing, can this not be agreed through Amazon, I'm hardly going to use the watch as a storage device to steal albums to sell on.

  • Hmmm.  Interesting.  I'm on just the basic Amazon Prime music plan (not unlimited).  I've downloaded quite a few songs on my phone so that my phone can play my lists without requiring data.  I was surprised when my Fenix 6 Pro now also seems to have all of my downloaded music in it.  Wasn't sure- so I turned off WiFi and put my phone on airplane mode, and was able to play all of my downloaded Amazon music right from the watch.  Playing music off the watch, of course, does use quite a bit more battery.

Since I never intentionally downloaded my Amazon music to my watch- I was surprised that the watch now stores it all.  Don't know exactly how this is done (apparently through the Amazon Music IQ App).

But I think I found your problem, and it's probably because you are in Norway.
