Fenix 6X Pro and 6X Sapphire? Same Functions? How is the HR compared to Fenix 3HR?

I am planning to upgrade from the Fenix 3 HR Sapphire due to the HR Sensor sometimes not picking up HR at all, reporting HR125-140 when clearly I am at 160+..

1) Is the Fenix 6 HR monitor better than the old Fenix 3? Anyone who have upgraded who has positive experiences with HR accuracy

2) I've been looking at "Garmin Fenix 6X Pro" and Garmin Fenix 6X Saphire". Can anyone please confirm that the Fenix 6X Sapphire does have all the features of the Fenix 6 Pro but with the added Sapphire glass?

Yep, 6x sapphire is just a pro with different glass, and DLC bezel coating. Internals are the same, uses identical software/firmware, has identical features.

Never had a F3 so can't answer that question directly, but I'm happy with the HR monitoring in my 6x. Some people have reported issues though.

I've been using my HR3 exactly 3 years, very satisfied with them, so I was able to skip 5 and 5x plus. Purchased 6 Pro Solar in early September and never regret this change. Except one small button issue all works perfectly without any issues mentioned in this forum. Answer for your HR question- yes they measure rate more accurate from my point of view, as it is one of my priorities among many functions.

I've had F3, F5, F5+, and now F6 sapphire and F6X sapphire. F3 didn't have HR, but all others do perfect RESTING and everyday HR for me. Not as good as Apple Watch for activities. But if you are serious about activity HR and don't like chest straps, get the Scosche Rhythm 24 or something for $70 and wear it on your arm. Perfectly accurate and better anyway for activities.

And on functions, they are same except for glass and coatings/materials on case.

The 6x pro Gorilla Glass and Sapphire are identical on the inside. My old 3HR had superior HR and GPS compared to my 6x Pro Sapphire. I'm hoping Garmin figures out this HR issue, as the sensor is really good stuff. The Sony GPS chip, every manufacturer is struggling with it.

Yes! I have 2 Scosche Rhythm+'s. One for running/biking, the other for swimming. They take HR out of the equation. Awesome devices. You can get live heart rate from the Rhythm+ by simply putting it about an inch away from your watch when swimming laps. Just wear the watch loosely so you keep the blood circulation clean for the Rhythm+. Bluetooth/Ant+ will travel and inch or two under watch without issue.

they are totally different chemicals.

I think he means the watches with those different lens materials are identical on the inside.

I have Fenix 3hr, and the optical hr is better and more stable than the fenix 6 pro Sapphire at the moment. I would hold out for at least 3 more months. Fw for f6 is NOT stable
