End of DST bug

I woke up in the US this morning and my F6 showed 515a while my iPhone (correctly) showed 615a. After I initiated a sync in GCM, the F6 then showed 615a.

Strange, I wonder if the F6 synced with my iPhone after my iPhone had fallen back one hour and then fell back again itself after that?

  • I had the opposite.  When I woke up my phone said 6:32am (correct time) and my 6S said 7:32am and I had to do a manual time sync with my phone for my watch to be correct.  And my watch syncs on its own with my phone every few minutes all day long.  If I had an alarm set on my watch for today it would not have been correct.  I have never had to manually sync a Garmin for DST.

  • Can you two email [email protected] and let us know when the last GPS activity you completed was, as well as send a zipped copy of your EVNTLOGS folder? You can find this folder by plugging the device into a computer, opening the device drive, going into the GARMIN folder, and then copying the EVNTLOGS folder.  Please title the email "End of DST bug".

    Thanks!

  • Mine did the DST switch no problem, I only had an issue (or rather, a confusion) with my CIQ watchface. CIQ watchfaces that show an alternate timezone typically don't have a DST setting for it.

So my watchface has analogue hands, and then it displays a digital alternate timezone. I have the alternate timezone set to my home timezone, so the two should match (when I'm in my home timezone). But when I woke up on Sunday, the analogue hands were correct but the alternate time was off by an hour.

I had to change the setting for the alternate timezone for the watchface with the CIQ app. And it sounds like I'll need to forever keep manually changing that every time DST changes, unless/until the watchface programmer implements DST for the alternate timezone. Not a Garmin problem, just a side effect of how I have things set up.
