How many Garmins do you own?

I am addicted.  Sold my F3 bought a 5 wireless sapphyre, sold and bought a 5s wireless sapphyre, sold to buy Descent Mk1, sold to buy F6 sapphyre titanium, kept and bought the 6X Pro Solar, now have 2 F5s sapphire's to give as Xmas presents.   Oh and have an Edge 1030 on my bike? Despite my disappointment with the screws on the Titanium band, I have never had an issue with any of these devices. Now waiting for the Descent Mk2 with all the 6 pro features, and diving.

So in summary 2 x 6s Pro Sapphyre, 1 x 6 Pro Sapphyre, and 1 x 6x Pro Solar. If anyone knows of a rehab clinic please let me know.

  • After years of using Fitbit, 2 years ago bought a Fenix 5 (but first tried a Vivoactive 3 that I took back the second day because it seemed to small for my wrist), sold it (plus a Fitbit Ionic) to get a Fenix 5x Plus. Sold that after almost a year (had to change 3 of them under warranty for problems with ABC and screen), bought an Fenix 3 Hr on eBay just until Fenix 6 was available, sold the Fenix 3 Hr and now owning a 6x Sapphire that after 2 months work still has no issues like i saw others have. After the 5x Plus foasco (for me anyway), thought to go with Polar or Suunto, but after numerous videos and reading forum posts, I've decided to stick with Garmin, all other brands have the same problems with their products, it's not just Garmin. At least with Garmin you have a more "do it all" watch than the competition.

I am "addicted" to wearables too, but I can't afford to spend big money on them, so if I have some old model to sell and some money to put on top, yes, I will always want to have the latest and greatest.

Started years ago with a Forerunner 405 and then eventually upgraded to a Forerunner 610. During this time I also started using a separate Fitbit device for activity tracking. Garmin didn't have activity tracking yet and I only wore my Forerunner for workouts. After Garmin got activity tracking I eventually decided to consolidate devices and bought a Fenix 3 and ditched the Fitbit. 2 years after that got a Fenix 5X and then 2 years after that a 6X sapphire. I also have an Edge 520 on my bike though I might upgrade that this year if there are some good deals during the holiday season.

It all started with the Polar m400. It was a random present. Then read a lot of reviews. And now on the hand of the Forerunner 910. With a chest Hrm. Then Tactix. Then Epix. Next f5 and Hrm-swim. Now 6x pro. Very happy. The battery manager is very helpful. And the device itself is a cut above. Determines everything more precisely. I am very satisfied. I train for ~ 1 hour 30 minutes daily. I use activity tracking and OHR. Only SpO on request. Hours are always enough for 22 - 26 days. Bought when appearing in the store. Loaded only 2 times. Very satisfied. I hope the updates do not spoil the clock as it was with f5Grimacing. Ah .. Well, again about Garmin. Now I’m buying a GPSmap 64st or something from this series. Very good and reliable.

  • I'm on my my 4th Garmin device.

    1. eTrex 20, a handheld hiking GPS I bought 7 years ago. I still use this when I need a non-wrist-based GPS to keep from getting lost.
    2. Nuvi 1370, a car GPS. It's in a sockdrawer somewhere, all our cars have built-in GPS now.
    3. Vivoactive 3 Music was my first Garmin watch. I really wanted a Fenix 5 Plus, but having never worn any watch before (let alone a smartwatch), I wanted to try this cheaper one for a while to see if I even liked using a smart/fitness watch. After a year with it, I decided that I indeed used it and liked it quite a bit, so then I gave it away and bought a...
