AirPods Pro + F6

I’m considering buying AirPods Pro and notice it can only connect to one device at a time, which I believe is also the case for AirPods.

For those with AirPods or AirPods Pro and the F6, do you just manually disconnect them from your phone if you want to use them with the F6? If so, do you have to go into the Bluetooth menu and disconnect there or is there a quicker/easier way to do that?

  • I've run twice with the AirPods Pro, once outdoors in transparency mode, and once indoors with noise cancellation on. They connect to the Fenix 6 easily and I haven't had to disconnect from the phone first.

As an aside, they seem subject to less dropouts than my AirPods 2. Outdoors, I only experienced two dropouts and not until I'd been running for more than an hour.

  • One question, does AirPods work with watch on left hand for you? My experience with Fenix 6 and B&O earbuds is that it works fine on right hand only.

  • I ran a 10k with the pros.  I’ve returned them.  They are uncomfortable, I hear the runners thump, with each step you get with all ear buds, didn’t stay seated well.  Regular AirPods just sound better to me and feel much more comfortavle in the ear.

  • Have not tried the AirPods Pro for running yet, but otherwise they are really nice.

Noice canceling works almost as good as my huge Bose QC 35 II, guess I will use them a lot less when traveling ;-)

The fit is quite good, once you find the right ear-buds.

Connection is rock solid and not only with the watch or phone in the right place as experienced with my Bragi Dash before.
Can walk around the flat (even different rooms) without dropping the connection. Amazing.

I will probably test them when I go for my sunday run today. See how they feel and whether I feel or hear my steps... Never had an issue with this with my Dash in ear headphones though.

One more thing: I miss the volume controls. Even though I rarely change volume much during my runs. It would come in handy...

  • I have not found any in ear headphones that don't hear the 'runners thump' let alone wind noise. That's why I have given up trying to find one and just use them in the gym or the office.

  • From what I read the Pro's have some type of squeeze the end for skipping forward or back.  Do these functions work with the F6?  I would imagine volume have to be controlled through the F6.

  • Yes, the AirPods Pro work for me with the Fenix on my left hand. Very few dropouts, and better performing in this regard for me than AirPods v2.

  • I’ve been using the AirPods Pro in transparency mode while running outdoors and I can’t really say I’m heading any runners thump or wind noise. They’re actually quite good in this mode.

  • I just picked up the AirPods Pro and went for my Sunday long run with them today. They are good with Fenix 6S but even better when paired with iPhone as you can use Siri to change the volume, as can’t do it with the buds alone.

The squeeze method of controlling the NC and skipping tracks works well and feels more intuitive than pressing buttons.

I’m not sure if they feel as comfortable after an hour and a half of running as my PowerBeats Pro do, which I can literally wear all day with no ear ache.

Now I’m in a dilemma over whether to keep these and sell my PowerBeats Pro which are also great. Sound quality is about the same. I would miss the volume controls but it’s fairly easy to control volume on the Fenix 6 once you get the hang of it, and actually feels less awkward doing it this way when running.

  • Got mine today. I was a little sceptical about some of the reviews from the fanboys on YouTube but I have to admit they sound fantastic, will try in the gym later.
