Watch alarm

My fenix 6x doesn't vibrate or sound when an alarm I've set on my android phone sounds (not a watch alarm). Is there a way to get the watch to sound/ vibrate in line with the phone alarm?

  • Nope. It's not because the watch can't do it, it's because our phones don't send alarm information over blutooth to the watches. So our watches have no way of knowing the phone alarm is going off.

Maybe future android/apple updates will allow for this, but I feel like they'd have done it by now if they had any interest in doing it.

So for now, we're stuck setting separate alarms on each device.

one exception to this is I believe iPhones I think do sync alarms with apple watches, but that's no surprise. Apple intentionally made the communication between iphones and apple watches better than with other brand watches. Manipulation to buy their product. Just another reason I stopped using iphones years ago.

  • Have you tried this option on the Android GC app?

Menu -> Settings -> Smart Notifications -> Clock (turn on)

If you use other Android app for setup alarms, turn it on in the Smart Notifications menu.

I am not sure it works as my watch is connection to an iPhone but as far as I remember it should.

  • Ya I've turned the Clock app on in smart notifications, and that didn't work. You're probably right that a 3rd-party alarm app would work, but then it would just buzz once and then stop like any other notification, wouldn't it?

  • That's not true, I've had a Polar V800 which is a very old watch and it was always, I mean always showing me alarms set on my Samsung Android phone (not in Polar app). When I got Fenix 5 (with the same phone) I was so disappointed that such an obvious feature that was implemented on a much older device is not working on a modern premium watch. Shame on Garmin.

  • This worked for me thanks on an android phone
