what pedometer sensor and cadence sensor would you recommend?

Hi, what pedometer and cadence sensor (for the bike) would you recommend getting? I find inbuilt stepcounter really crappy and unreliable.

Price is not an issue, the only requirement is reliability - no hassle in auto syncing or "waking up" the sensor.

Just a quick query - you are aware that the Garmin devices typically don't start counting steps unless you do at least 10 steps? Personally I've found the step counter to be fine.

Also, steps are only counted by the watch itself, none come from external sensors.

External sensors can report cadence, but not steps, and while walking it sees "steps" per minute, on a bike cadence is revolutions, so what would be two steps when walking. (right foot and left foot is one revolution)
