How to change the order of activities within a strength workout during the workout

I've created a strength workout program containing a list of activities / gym equipment. However during a workout, gym equipment can be busy and therefore i would like to go to the next available one and then come back when the equipment is available. Basically changing the order of the workout during the workout.

Is this possible?

Thanks

Not on the watch, it would probably be pretty complex to implement changing the order of the workout on the fly. I run into similar situations with busy equipment so what I do is just move on to the next exercise and record it under the wrong exercise, then go back to the one I missed and do the same. I just then remember to edit the workout in Connect afterwards and switch the exercises to what I actually did. Even if I forget it's usually pretty obvious to me when looking at the workout since the weight amount I use for each exercise is different and I enter the reps and weight on the watch after each set.

  • I solved this by building my own garage gym. No need to wait for busy equipment! ;)

Surely it would be quite easy to implement. Simply allow the user to view the steps and select the next one?

  • It’s been a while. Is this possible now?

  • I never do pre-defined steps. Just chose Strength activity, and then use the lap key:

    - Press lap key: finishes the workout and starts "Rest"

    - Press lap key again: it starts the next workout.

It has the disadvantage that I might not remember what each workout was,  but as it sounds that's also a problem when you pre-defined some order and then you had to change it on the fly.

  • +1 for this request. It's a very common occurrence in a gym that a piece of equipment is unavailable.

  • I think it's currently the most practical answer.

It's unfortunate in that it makes all of the connect workouts and the ability to load ones own to the watch redundant. That in turn means still carrying a phone or notebook arrive the weight room which is also a little redundant.

This is really important to me, too. I use a pad and paper to record it right now but I would much rather do it right in Garmin

  • It works now, if you skip a set it gets added to list where you can start it immediately or you will be asked at the end if you still want to do the skipped sets.

  • Thanks!  I'll try this on my next lift.
