  1.    I just got this very expensive sapphire  watch Friday, but unfortunatly it will have to go back as the colors are lost once the backlight kicks in, looks clean and crisp with out light, looks cheap and nasty and hard to read with. This is @70% but it is much the same from 20% on. CryCry The pics an accurate representation, I will contact Garmin on Monday and see what they have to say, I also sent them a email request , and will let you all know the outcome. If it wasnt for that it would be awesome. Cheers Mike

One explanation is that some Fenix 6 units actually have a screen/backlight hardware build that is an improvement on the past, but that build is not universal yet (I’ll be honest, this is just me guessing).

Thats an interesting theory and a really probable one. Additionally your 6x's screen looks here far superior and actually black. Are we just witnissing the first good 6x screen?

I would like Garmin, who admitted there is a problem, to give us an answer why these displays differ in look so much. That's all.

Well, technically they have already given an answear. The said that they have different suppliers and the variability is within their tolarence. Tha answear is here. I don't feel satisfied by it but thats a different topic.

  • Me too, it is like a lottery at the moment. If I knew 6 gonna have a better display I would buy this model instead of 6X.

The equivalent of finding Bigfoot! Wow.  A high contrast 6x! There is hope!

Ok guys , sent old watch back and got a refund a month back.I shopped around after as i really like watch, and saw another 3 with same washed appearance and did not buy. Then yesterday with the black friday sale saw 30% off , so went again but in a different country. The new watch is perfect and far from the same as the other watchs to view with backlight, deep colors no wash out., i can confirm these watches have backlight differences. . Happy I got a good one, finally...

  • Could you post some pictures, please? Thank you!

  • I would just like to make my reds red and my blues blue, and greens green. My galaxy active 2 has great colors. I have tried different watch faces but the reds look pink and the greens are hard to distinguish between the blues. I currently just use the black and white because the colors suck. If someone knows of a fix please post.

Easy - buy a watch with an AMOLED display like your Galaxy Watch Active2.  Of course, outdoors where it really counts, it will not look as brilliant or color rich as the transflective MIP display on your fenix 6.
