Random Alarms

I had this happen to me with my Fenix 6x Sapphire. After repeating the steps I chalked it  up to clunky UX/UI by Garmin.  If you go in to set an alarm you might accidentally set one for 12am without noticing that you did.  

I don't have any other alarms set...….. :(

This is my biggest issue with Garmin’s UI, the reason I stopped using alarms on my watch since the Fenix 3 HR I think.

It is so badly designed:

- The default value is midnight.

- There’s no confirmation screen or message after creating an alarm.

- Pressing the back button saves the alarm immediately, again without any message.

- When no other alarm is set, it jumps straight to adding a new one instead of showing the alarm menu when opening alarms, so if by mistake or curiosity you open the alarms menu and naturally press the back button, you’re in for a nasty surprise.

- On top of all of this there’s a persistent (again this has been in previous models) strange behaviour that sometimes when adding an alarm it will show a screen with the message “updating” and then go back to the previous menu, but a new alarm has been created, at midnight, without you knowing it.

With all of these behaviours it is so extremely easy making the mistake of creating an alarm at midnight with disastrous consequences, because the alarms are not silenced by the Do Not Disturb and they are created with Sound and Vibrations by default, it will wake you up at midnight, you and anyone next to you, it is not a nice experience, it might even start an argument with your partner.

It sucks that I cannot use such a basic watch feature on my high end watch for constant fear of being waken up at midnight. It’d be so easy to fix, just use a daytime default time and a confirmation message before saving the alarm.

Well there it is.... I re-checked and there was 00:00 alarm set, which I had never configured. Deleted.

Hello everyone,

I have three alarms set:

• 05:50 weekdays
• 06:00 weekdays
• 07:30 weekends

yet, I have had two alarms going off at 09:40 and at 17:40 in the last few days. In the alarms menu, there are no other items listed as the above three alarms.

Any ideas?

Again, I had an alarm at 07:40 which was never set.
