no update of training status when using stored hr-date from hrm-Tri

just to summarize the steps:

1. start treadmill activity with hrm tri connected

2. leave watch in wardrobe

3. finish the activity

4. go bach to wardrobe and stop activity

5. leave the stop screen for at least 10 minutes

6. press save

and hopefully everything is updated ;-)

Note that VO2Max is only calculated for running with GPS (or cycling with a power meter). As this was a treadmill activity with no GPS, Training Load should be recorded, but no VO2Max.

Training load for me not useable, and it was one of my main reasons for buying fenix 6x :-(

My most recent outdoor soccer matches were still before I had the current Fenix, so those don't have any exercise load.  I randomly checked a dozen of my indoor soccer activities, and all had appropriate (100+) loads.  I randomly checked a number of my indoor climbing activities and even those had higher loads than your example above.  Climbing is very little cardio -- mostly strength and balance. For climbing, sometimes I use the default Treadmill activity, and sometimes I use a custom climbing app where it tracks time on wall, climb difficulty, send/no, etc.

The only difference I can think of is I don't do outdoor GPS activities much.  At the moment, my watch's training status widget is asking me to run outdoors twice to see your status.  I do know my lactate threshold and have manually entered that in my user/watch profile.  Also, my Max HR and resting HR.  I get some spurious high HR readings from time to time (eg, steady 150 BPM and suddenly a short spike to 190 or even 200+ for a second or two and then back down to 150).  If I don't manually set Max HR, those false spikes set my MHR beyond the possible which then screws up everything else (TE, etc).

I am 100 % sure that there is something wrong with the syncing process when HRM-Tri is used without connection to the watch.

when I make soccer training i often wear the watch under a wristband and then I get perfect data for training load, training effect and recovery time. no matter what acitivity type I am using.

what about all the swimmer out there? are you getting training load calculations for your activities????

I was reading up in this, as i wanted to use the HRM Pro for climbing witough a watch on my wrist and saw this part in the FAQ:

"Some metric calculations, such as Training Load and Training Effect include data recorded on a Garmin watch that are not recorded using store and forward. It seems to be a known problem with Garmin. I think i am gonna hold off buying a HRM Pro then - this kind of defeats the idea of having the correct values of training load and effect.

It has been a while since my last swim (October) but Training Effect and Training Load from HRM-Tri stored HR data was recorded in my logbook. That data was taken directly from the FIT files on the watch, and I can't say if it would also be available in Connect (probably).

I'm not sure how it works (not a Connect user) but you'll probably have to retrieve stored data from the HR strap, before the activity is synced.

You want the HRM-Tri then.  It gives me TE and the like when I use it separate from the watch when playing soccer, climbing, etc. 

i guess that would even be cheaper. i toughs the pro was a better or newer version of the tri tough containing all the functions.
