Hello Everyone,
I recently purchased a Fenix 6 Pro, and I am new to the Garmin line and products. So far I have been pretty happy with the watch, but i have a question regarding the resting calories the watch is calculating. I am 5'10", 180 lbs, and extremely active. I do strength/HIIT 5 days a week, and mountain bike at 3 days a week, for about 40 miles a week. I am pretty muscular as know I burn a lot of calories because I eat like a horse and maintain very low body fat. My resting heart rate is 59.
When I use online calculators and other sources, my stats say my resting calorie burn is around 2900 calories per day or so, but Garmin is saying my resting is ~2000. I have checked all of my stats, and my activity number is set to 9. Given my activity level, fitness level, and muscle mass, I know I am burning more than 2000 calories a day just resting. Any ideas what can be going on here? It is a little frustrating to do a 30 mile, backcountry MTB ride, that took almost 6 hours and your watch say you only burned 3000 calories all day...
Thanks for the help!
