Notifications on the Fenix 6 Sapphire not working

I just got my Fenix 6 Sapphire and it's great! But, the notifcations seems really unstable. Everything worked fine when I got it however, after a day or two I did not receive any notifications. So I tried to tweak every setting I could find but nothing worked. Ended up resetting the entire device which worked for another day before it went back to not working anymore.

Settings on watch:

  • Phone > Smart Notifications > Status > On.

  • During Activity: Show all

  • Not During Activity: Show all

  • Privacy: Off

  • Timeout: 1 min

And for the settings in the app I have enabled the apps under "smart notifications" that I want to show.

I have a Oneplus 7 Pro device running Android 9 and both the phone and watch is running the newest available software.

If anyone knows how to fix this I would really appreciate your help!

Hey, it seems like no one cares about this problem. I read so much about this problem but no solution.

I have Xiaomi Mi 6, Android 9. My Garmin Fenix 6x Pro is connected with my Mi6. I can find my watch with my Handy and also my handy with my watch. Bluetooth works, notifications works, everything works.............. till I see on my phone GARMIN CONNECT icon "Connect-Sync-Service".

So I tap on it, Garmin Connect open and start sync. Sync complet, watch connected with my handy. I close garmin connect and still see that icon. After that everything work, just notification dont. I can sync everything, but no notification on my watch. And all that happend just after 2-3 days or if I go to Connect IQ store and download something. I dont know why! Nobody knows?

I have to clear data from garmin connect, login again and everything is again fine. So it seems like problem with Garmin connect.

I have that same problem with Garmin Forerunner 645 music on Honor handy.

So who can help us? Who know what to do?

    Sorry for my english

  • Usually, this happens because the phone is killing the background notification to save battery. I guess you need to enable the 'connect' app to send notifications and also to let 'connect' app run in the background.

Try this: go to notifications on the watch via quick tap on the “up” button. On the first notification tap the “start” button. A “clear” option will appear beneath the notification. Quick tap the “down” button and the screen will move to the next notification and delete the one you just saw. Go through the whole list of notifications one by one doing the same thing. They will be all gone and not register on the features list (go back with the “back” button then quick tap the “up” button to check). Worked for me.

  • Solving this issue was a nightmare for me. I have read a ton of articles, tried all described things including praying and nothing has worked. When I have lost my hope, I have found a mention of a problem with clocks (time) on the device and in the application (Garmin Connect). I have checked it, and the time was correctly set on both (device and app).

    But...

I have found, that the Do Not Disturb Hours (which I use for the time range during sleeping) is set from 22:00 to 7:00 in the device although in the application is a setting which forces displaying the time in 12-hours format (time range for DND is defined in 24-hours format)

After setting the GC application displaying hours in 24-hours mode, notifications have started to work.

Now I have a suspicion that the same issue is why sleep data are not recorded. I am in expectation to this night:-)
    Hope, it helps somebody.
