Use this datafield: https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/a9734c04-fb8a-49b9-89e1-9ac16a9a6f5e
Follow the developer's instructions on how to set it up.
hi,
same here.
I've installed and tested, I even posted here some pictures.
the second time I tried to use it was stuck in the same "Searching"...even the HRM was connected.
for a test was…
Go to an activity screen - you will see the "heart" icon blinking or showing chest strap is connected.
When it's showing is connected it displays the HR read from chest strap.
In the watch face mode the displayed HR is from WHR no matter if you have a chest strap connected(at least as far as i know)
Sorry to dig out that old thread.
I bought a HRM Tri and wanted to compared the WHR to the chest strap. So I did a bike ride using the strap but online it seems to show only the heart rate from the strap. Do I have to add a separate datafield which simultaneously tracks the readings from the WHR?

Thanks for the advice.
I added the datafield and removed my strap in the sensor menu of the watch. However it's just displaying "Searching...".
Maybe you have an idea?

for a test was fine, but anyway I will not use it... so I uninstalled it.
anyway, I try to keep it clean......... the fewer apps and watch faces the better...
just me,

I've gotten into the habit of disabling WHR when I put on the strap to make sure my 6xPro doesn't record incorrect values in case the strap disconnects.
Not sure you have to remove the strap in the menu. What I always do is this: put the strap around the chest, go into the sensor menu (where it is already shown as connected), disable it (not remove) and then proceed to the activity in which I want to test the OHR vs strap. The datafield always picks it up without any problems.
Please, note that if you want to use just the strap afterwards, you have to go into the sensor menu again and enable the strap. Otherwise, you will get whr readings.
