Automatic sync of activities

Anyone knows why automatic syncing of activities is enabled and greyed out in Garmin Connect? With Vivoactive 3 the sync happened when I opened Garmin Connect and not instantly after the activity.

I don't know why it's greys out (it is on mine, too), but on both my Vivoactive 3 and my Fenix 6x, it has automatically synced my activities shortly after the activity is finished, regardless of whether or not I open the connect app. Usually within about 10 minutes. Occasionally it didn't seem like it was happening by itself, so I opened the connect app to force it.. but 95% of the time it just happens by itself.
