Fenix 6..DON’T BUY! Product doesn’t work as claimed! No music! Software updates take forever! No apology! No service!

Bought this effectively useless Fenix 6 product for an Ultra this weekend. Spent ages setting up and uploading music only to discover that it hasn’t worked for anyone for weeks. There’s no volume control and what is there is barely audible.

customer service have no idea when it will be fixed. They aren’t prepared to compensate or keep customers or even apologise!

they want you to send data files but even the instructions to do that are wrong!

First time I bought a Garmin product. This company is a joke!!!

be warned!!!!! Software updates don’t get tested properly and your devise won’t do what it’s supposed to for an indefinite period

  • why would i even be here if i dont have a watch?

In my country you just cant send it back and get money back. And there are lot of people who whine and you think that none of them has a watch?

Seems Slovenia has pretty standard EU based consumer protection laws

  • "Consumer protection Act also stipulates special guarantee rules. There are two kinds of guarantees. The first one is in Europe also known as two-year legal guarantee, which gives the costumer right to ask the seller to repair or replace the faulty item free of charge or to give him/her a full refund or reduction of price. Consumer must inform the seller of the fault within two months of discovering it. But if the fault is discovered within six months from buying, it is accepted that the fault already existed when the item was bought. The other guarantee is known as commercial (also conformity) guarantee and it should be undertaken by companies for some durable goods. The Ministry of economic development and technology adopts Regulations on goods, for which conformity guarantee shall be issued. The duration of the conformity guarantee shall be at least one year for new items and at least one month for used items."

  • yes they offerd me replacemetn, but not new watch, but refurbished. And that is not ok for me.

  • And when my Fenix 5 failed to work via USB, Garmin replaced it FOC even though I was a month out of warranty.

  • I had a refurbished replacement F5 for my replacement. It was indistinguishable from new. Literally. I could find NOTHING to suggest it wasn't new

  • And if anything, I was happy because refurbished meant that extra care had been taken to ensure things worked as it did. And it did, it was flawless.

  • well maybe you are right. I will wait till next beta and if there wont be any changes in HR i will contact them again and take refurbished,

  • I will try and dig out the photo's I took when I ended up selling it buddy. Truly, it was as new. Which doubly chuffed me because not only was the USB working when the other didn't, but the two scratches I had put on the bezel were now a distant memory!

With me, they asked me to just send back the watch (no strap) and I ended up with a watch with strap and lead sent back to me. Even my wife took one look and said, "that's refurbished?"

  • With the first image (Showing VO2Max of 49 - note the marks at 11oclock and 7

The second - looks like new (and that was about 6 months after I'd had it too! - the marks on the screen are dirt from my fingers on that one!)
