Are people using widget glances?

At first, I liked the novelty of them but realized that they were providing less info (and requires an extra click to get to the deeper dive for each widget) and I still needed to scroll to see the next widget anyway. Also, the glances view devotes an unnecessary slot to ‘Edit’ (can be done by press/hold ‘Menu’ button just like everywhere else in watch UI) which requires an additional button press to cycle through compared to the full widgets

  • I still use the glances, and like them. I agree about the unnecessary edit button. But otherwise I like being able to see a few different widgets at a time, especially since most of them are ones I don't care to open the full screen view for. I never really cared for the full-screen-only widget loop on my old watch, and I always found myself scrolling too far past a widget because I could never remember which one is next in the loop, now I can see which one is coming next while I'm mashing the button.

  • I guess different strokes for different folks. The glances were (still) one of the selling points for the watch. I always hated having to scroll through pages of slow widgets to find the one I wanted . Yes, with glances, there is still some scrolling,  but far less than before, especially if I rearrange them as needed (like, put the tide and weather together,  put the solar and battery widget together,  etc..)

  • I like the glances. Interesting to know there is an option to not use them know - that, I did not know!  Sticking with them for sure. But I totally agree about the edit button. If one thing were to push me away from glances, it’s the annoyance of having the edit slide.

  • I disabled it after 10 mins. I know the numeric position of each of my widgets (one click up for steps, three clicks up for weather) and often change widget when on the move without looking as I'm changing them. Prefer the bigger widget as the glances weren't giving me much.

Plus, what use is seeing the compass direction if you want to view all day strrss, or last played music when you want to know your training load?

  • I love glances. It was one of the reasons I upgraded from the 5X to the 6x pro.

Everyone I know who’s a Garmin user tends to ask to see my watch, being the newer model, and they always comment on how they like the glances feature.

It’s down to personal preference I guess. But I love them.

  • also like the glances and also agree that the "edit" option is annoying

  • + for glance here. The whole UX now seems more refined, integrated.

  • I've only had my 6S Sapphire for 4 days so I am still trying out the glances, but I am leaning towards turning them off, honestly.  And I was so excited about them when I first heard about them.  But it doesn't reduce my scrolling at all and it actually makes me have an additional click to see the info that I didn't have to before.  For example, I like being able to scroll to the health stats and actually see all those numbers in my scroll as opposed to having to click in to see my body battery number, which doesn't show in the glance.  I figure if I have to scroll just as much anyway I want to see more info while I'm scrolling.
