Battery drain fast in Navigation mode in Fenix 6x pro solar

Hello,

Recently I bought a garmin Fenix 6x pro solar. Basically I want it to navigate and follow tracks. I have configured the navigation mode for an estimated duration of 68 hours (power mode) and disabled everything except an external FC monitor. There are no files or music in memory.

I have two tests with the navigation mode and I have followed a track for 1 hour, spending almost 6% (aprox. 17 hours of battery life), in this navigation mode and following a track.

These 17 hours are much less than my Fenix 5x plus working under the same conditions.

Any experience following a track regarding battery drain?

Any ideas to improve this?

If this is so, I am thinking of returning it.

Continual re-rendering of the map as you move takes processor power and battery.

So don't have the map as your main screen - just change to the map screen whenever you need to refer to your position.…

What is your setup for the watch?

I have disabled everything except an external FC monitor.

Power mode:

GPS: GPS+Glonass.

Music: Disabled.

Phone: Disabled.

FC wrist: Disabled.

Pulsiox: Disabled.

Map: Allow.

Screen: Always activated.

Backlight: 4 secs and only with buttons (20%).

Today I am goint to do a new test, changing the screen option to start hour, but I don't know this option what does.

Any idea?

Thank you, even so, there should be an option that allows battery saving in this situation... I think..

New test, with map screen disabled only active with buttons, does a batery life of 65 hours. Clearly, the fast drain is due to a the map screen. Are there other posiibilities about resolution or other features, to improve this value with map screen active?

You can perhaps use the display time out in the Power Mode settings. After 7 seconds, the display goes off, until you press a button. 7seconds on etc. Perhaps Garmin should make the time out time configurable. I am not quite sure, if an action (navigation turn on a routable map during a navigation to a destination or a approximately alarm, notification) will always enable the screen, too. If the alarm clock starts during time out, the alarm doesn’t come through, just after a button press to enable the screen, even 20 minutes later. Don’t know, if it’s an issue or by design.
