How does music during affect battery

Waiting on my 6x Sapphire to get here next week and I am getting excited to listen to some tunes during runs.  Question, how much does music kill the battery? Can I expect to charge after every run or can I can I get away with a couple runs? My runs are usually an hour long.

Thanks in advance!

  • You'll get somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 hours of GPS + music use time.

Edit: Disregard my note, battery life I suggested was for the 6 pro, not 6x.

Thanks guys, much better than my fenix 3hr! Im happyThumbsup

  • So I have the F6 Sapphire and first week I was using music and GPS in morning for 2 hour sessions.  In the afternoon/evening 2 hour sessions just GPS.  I was getting 3 full days of workouts and the battery was down to about 12%.  So I did a full charge and next morning I noted the battery percentage was 99% when I started.  GPS and Music for a 2 hour session brought the battery down to 84% for a 15% use with GPS and music.  That evening when I started another 2 hour session the battery was at 82%.  Use GPS only.  At the end the watch was at 76% for a 6% use with GPS only.  Music = huge battery hit.

  • At least on other watches, music has the same or larger battery drain than GPS, as your numbers indicate.

  • On the AW4 music and GPS for two hours would normally be 26 - 30 percent. Which is normally why if I was doing double sessions of 2 hours or more each I would have to put the AW 4on the charger for a half hour in between sessions. The LTE version was only rated for 5 hours GPS and music. Add in notifications and a few phone calls I was always showing red by 6 pm if I forgot that short charge during the day.
