Nylon band and shower...

Hi all, I’m still waiting for my watches to arrive and what I can’t find is if you can shower with the nylon bands or if I have to switch to silicons ones.... what do you do?

The nylon band stay stiff. I've worn mine in the shower, the pool and the sea, as well as for cycling and running. Still fine.

Bekkedalen thank you for that info! That's what I was afraid of with the leather. I'll wear the silicone band if it's going to get wet. Glad it's coming with both.

Best to not shower with the watch...I sell watches...hot water expands the rubber seals in the buttons... over time your watch will loose its water resistance.....

Having said that. . many people still shower with their watches on.....that report no problems.....however it is not recommended in the industry.

Oh I didn’t know that. Not even if you’re showering in body temperature or slightly colder water?

Body temp is fine.......warm water is OK...

But hot shower water is not OK... as when the watch cools it sucks moisture through the expanded button seals.

Hehehe alright.... so back to the question... how about the band will it get “loose” or sluggish or what?

I had the same question about the leather band as my 6S with the shale gray leather band will arrive in two days. I've always worn my Garmins in the shower but now I think if I do I'll have to wear the other band it comes with .

I think you "can" wear the leather band in the shower, but I'm not sure you want to. Exposing the leather band to water might darken it. I think it will also make it wear out faster.

Yea, I don't think I want to shower with the leather. I want that to stay looking nice and water will ruin it. I don't think I'll even run with the leather because of sweat and rain. Thankfully it also comes with a silicone band that I'll probably use for activities.
