6X Sapphire alarm not working properly

Twice now I have had problems with the alarm. Today I had it set for 7:00 am vibrate only. It went off at 7:18 with vibrate and tone. I went back in and checked and it was still set at 7. On Thursday I had it set for 5:00 and it never went off!  Anyone else having issues?

    And now I finally also have an instance of this happening after years of no issue and sole reliance with the 3.  6 worked perfectly for a month.  Today went of something like ~36 mins late.  Despite 3 set (I always set 3 in a row just in case).  

  • I have the same problem. Alarm didnt go off today. Luckily i had my phone alarm as a backup or i would have missed work.

    hi all,

    from the moment I buy 6X Pro Solar did not miss an alarm.

    because of dental surgery, I had last weeks to take pills at 8 hours interval. so I set accordingly 4 repeated alarms.

    no alarm missed, all buzz at the exact moment, either repeated or single alarm.

     

    it is called BCP - Bussiness Continuity Plan.... for pills I do not care I miss an alarm... but for flight, or critical moment (wake up) I always set multiple alarms in order:

    • my mind --- "wake at 0500" - usually works...
    • fenix 6X
    • iPhone
    • desk watch - buzzer + radio

    either can miss an alarm - software upgrade (first three - me included), bugs (crash of the software, turn off, etc....),  power failure for desk watch.

    It happened with Fenix 6 after one month of reliable usage: I've changed the alarm from 7am to 6am, after disabling the phone connection, before going to sleep. The watch alarmed at 6am, but the snooze didn't go off 10 mins later.

    Same problem with my f6xpro. Alarms did work when tested (when I first set up the watch in December).  Nowadays (a few weeks and several updates later), it's not alarming at all. I've set tone, tone and vibe & vibe only (via the watch and via the Connect app). No dice. Haven't had random alarms going off or alarms going off later than set though. The alarms simply don't go off at all.

    Hopefully Garmin are reading this forum and working on a fix. 

  • I have the same issue , can set on watch or on garmin connect and it just doesn’t go off my 5x never skipped a beat 

  • Ok so out of frustration an reading what some of you did I tried this and it worked for me , 

    1. I erased alarms on both the watch and garmin connect , 
    2. power off 
    3. power unit back on 
    4. added new alarms 
    5. sync 

    now everything seams to be working again

    I have a Garmin Fenix 6 Sapphire and the alarm is set to go off every morning during the week at 7:00 am and 7:10 am. The watch alarms fail at least once a week to go off. I wish there was someway to fix this issue. I am back to wearing my Apple Watch at night as well so that I can wake up on time. My Apple Watch never fails. I wish Garmin would find the issue and fix it. 

  • I had similar issues with my 5 nothing on the 6 yet but I have started setting my Alarms on the watch itself , I think the problem comes from using the phone to override the watch , in my experience erase all set alarms and set them directly on the watch , I have had no issues since I use the watch directly , my 2c but it worked for me ...

    Thank you for the suggestion, it is much appreciated. I only schedule my alarms on my watch. I did not have this issue until several weeks ago when Garmin pushed out several updates. I am not sure what is causing this. It is just frustrating to have a $1000 watch that the alarm is not reliable. It is just disappointing.
