Anyone know of a way to listen to Audible on the Garmin Fenix 6X Pro or similar models?
Anyone know of a way to listen to Audible on the Garmin Fenix 6X Pro or similar models?
Feature request please Garmin...please add Audible to your main apps!
Use OpenAudible to convert to mp3 then copy to watch
Since Garmin is the #1 wearable brand when it comes to music partnerships, and they've already partnered with Amazon music (Amazon owns Audible), one can hope that an audible app may be a reality at some…
100% Agree - I just switched from Apple Watch to Fenix 6X Pro & because of this small issue I am considering going back.
Being able to control the music, Audio or other Apps by quickly touching your watch screen seems like a small deal, but it is so Beneficial while running or riding.
It is an easy fix. Not sure why it isn’t already completed.
Hi,
can download my audiobooks but can not convert to mp3 with the trial.
To test openaudible I have to purchase a license.
Does it really work with big audiobooks. Downloaded a 900 Mb book. Does it really do the job and is worth the money.
Is the 6x pro solar able to play the converted books ?
I paused my audible account. Writing requests to audible since more than 1 year one request for support garmin as player every month. Nothing. So I will cancel after the pause.
We should all request Garmin as player on the audible account once every week until they react or cancel the account.
Audiobook files can be split with the free to use software Audacity.
The most reliable technique, though not 100% perfect is to use the silence finder function. The silence finder will create labels for every gap it finds. On some books something like 3s gap will correctly identify the chapter starts.
You can then export these label markers as a file, rename the markers in something like Excel, as all markers are usually marked with "S". So rename to Chapter 1, chapter 2..., Save that file as .tsv and import it back to Audacity. Once you import it, you can just delete the original label maker track (with the S labels). Now you go to file ; export as multiple and export the one big audio file, with the track markers used to split the big file into multiple chapter files. And voila.
If you want to go one step further, import the folder to iTunes, click on Get info on the album and add an artwork to the imported album. You can also play with other settings like, skip when shuffling, etc.
Once in iTunes you can transfer the album to your watch with the Garmin Express software.
This step is really not that difficult. The trickiest part is getting onto the .mp3 file. But that is possible by using the developer tools in Google Chrome (or other browsers).
If anybody is interested in this step, then let me know below.

I found a cost free tool to covert aax to mp3.

Hello. I see the comments on this thread are quite old. I just received an email from Audible yesterday saying that Audible.com will block access to Audible Manager and will use instead Audible Sync. I think that means that even using OpenAudible app will not work anymore. Any thoughts on this? Anyone?
