Corrupted data

My Fenix 6x pro appears to have some corrupted data on it.

I tried to sync it tonight. I got all my data (steps, HR, ox, battery etc) from around 0900 this morning onwards. However my sleep data and anything before 0900 is missing in Garmin connect.

When I sync via WiFi I get told sync has failed.

Syncing via Bluetooth appears to sync fine until the last 1/4 and then it just finishes.

Syncing via usb spends ages syncing and then gives a red X saying there was an issue with syncing.

Daily metrics tonight are still syncing. An activity I did a short while ago sync’d. But this morning is a blank and it appears to cause the sync to report errors.

I know I had a similar issue years ago with my Fenix 3HR and I deleted a file and it worked fine. But I can’t find details of what file it was to see if a similar file exists on the 6 range.

Any ideas anyone on how to clear this?

sorry to hear about your mishap...

connected via usb you can do a manual upload from Garmin Connect Web

upload all the fit files from your sleep folder

data that is already uploaded will be marked, as would files with corrupt data

remove the corrupt ones from the sleep folder

when non corrupt, you can proceed with the following folders, Metrics, Monitor and Activity

    happy & safe sporting

  • How will they be marked? I’m not sure how to tell what has and hasn’t been uploaded.

I’m also not sure if this is a problem with my account or my watch now.

I’ve done a number of factory resets. Each time the watch has the sync issue.

When I look more closely at the issue it seems it’s affecting all sync methods. Bluetooth, usb and WiFi. It’s just Bluetooth and usb hide it better.

This makes me think that the issue is actually my account, possibly corrupted on the server side?

  • I’ve just confirmed. It’s my account.

I get the same problem trying to sync my Edge too.

This has to be a server side issue.

    thank you for the feedback

How will they be marked? I’m not sure how to tell what has and hasn’t been uploaded.

select all and upload via Garmin Connect Web

the import tool wil tell you corrupt or already uploaded or uploaded ok

    success with Garmin Support

  • The problem appears to be the data that’s already on the server.

I deleted all the data from my watch and then set it up as new. It still had the sync problem.

I then tried to sync my edge 530 and that had the sync problem too.

I think my connect account has corrupted somehow.
