Fenix 6 default watch faces does not displaying daily distance. Only steps or last activity distance. Is it possible to add this?
All default watch faces only show running distance for the week. And it need to be done via an activity. Walking around does not show up like you want. A non default like no frills gives you what you want.
Hi all,
I've found I'm driven to 3rd party watch faces because I like to see distance + steps as opposed to just steps. Battery life on default watch faces has been superior, so I'd like to stick with Garmin watch faces.
However.....I can't find distance anywhere. Not even in steps widget. Steps widget will show me a crude bar graph, but it's pretty rough.
So...is the only way to see distance to use 3rd party watch face or Connect app??
Lastly, I've had Connect insights show me a very nice graph of steps vs time on a weekend day (basically saying "look how little you walk on weekends"). The graph was fantastic...but that was the only time I've seen it.
I guess I'm looking for:
1) distance on my watch w/o use of 3rd party watch face
2) plot of steps (or distance) vs time. Whether on watch or Connect app
Any any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
Did you achieve this somehow?
Can be easily calculated with the stride length
I was asking for some already made solution, like a data field for default watch faces. Garmin Connect app already has the calculation, but I want to see that in a glance or watch face
This should be relatively easy for Garmin to add with next update however I don’t think they ever will because it’s either not a priority thing or the demand is low. I also used other watch faces to give me distance walked because I don’t care about how many steps is from A to B - it’s different for everyone but distance is not.
If you can't find this value in the default watchface, Garmin "Dev" provide many up to date watchface. I'm using some of them since 2 years without impact on my watch (battery drain for example)

Thanks socorsu! I’ll take a look at these since you said they were not too bad on battery life. For me however the whole point is to be able to use stock face I like (default one for Fenix 6 pro) with data that Garmin didn’t make available for us to set on watch face. I’ve had a look at the API and an example of how the coding for watch face is done and it’s not even that many lines of code to call relevant method, get data and then display on watch face. So not sure why they just don’t make all data they can available?
