Alert Setting

New to the Fenix series.  Was using a Vivoactive 3 previous.  Have F6 Sapphire for one week now and have Audible Alerts setup for Distance 1 mile in both Walking and Jogging.  Each mile I get the "Distance 1.0" even though I am at 3, 4, or 5.  So to get actual distance covered should this be setup elsewhere or am I missing a setting?  My first preference would be have a Vibration alert setting for each mile but Vibration was not an option when setting up the Alert. So is there other menu options that would allow Alerts during exercise to be either Audible or Vibration?  And I know that it is easy enough to look at the screen but I wear glasses normally, just not during exercise.  Overall I really like the F6, just do not like the double click I have for the Start/Stop button.

  • I have the same question about the alerts, I'm not sure how to customize them, or if they even really are customizable?

It startled me the first time I went running and a mysterious voice announced that I had gone 1 mile Smiley Having also come from a Vivoactive 3 myself, I didn't even realize this was a feature on the Fenix.

  • I found another answer related to the Fenix 5.  So what I did was go into the menu options for Activities and deleted the Audio prompt I had set up for distance.  Then went into the Auto Lap feature which has a Distance setting and set it up for 1.0 mile.  Tried it yesterday but I did not have my headphones were setup for the AW4, wearing both right now, so did not get the Audio prompts but it did Vibrate every mile and the Auto Lap screen shows up for a couple of seconds.  Numbers and clarity of the screen are big enough for me to see without glasses.  Will try today with headphones.  Ultimately the vibration is enough for me.  So I might turn off Audio prompts all together.  Wanted to see what battery life was like without music.  1 hour and 53 minutes yesterday morning with music and GPS used 15% battery.  Afternoon was 2 hours and 6 minutes no music and only used 6% battery.  Playing music is why I am getting 3 full days and charging that night.

  • Setting the Auto Lap for the distance will work. Just remember while in Menu go to Sounds and it will have a setting for Auto Lap sound. Must be turned on default is off.
