Navigation directions through headphones?

Hi guys,

one question about the turn-by-turn navigation on the Fenix 6. Can you hear the instructions in the Bluetooth connected headphones? Like .. you are running listening to music and the watch would say "in 100m turn left". Like car navigation.

None of the recent watches with routable maps and visual turn indicators have done this. It's not an advertised feature and is not present on my Fenix 5+ or MARQ, so I'm not surprised it's not present…

I expected this future on my Fenix 6X too... But disappointed that this is NOT the case...

Would be a GREAT improvement, because my eyesight is not that good anymore and I'm struggling to see where exactly…

Maybe this feature is not yet usable ? In all languages ?

None of the recent watches with routable maps and visual turn indicators have done this. It's not an advertised feature and is not present on my Fenix 5+ or MARQ, so I'm not surprised it's not present on my Fenix 6X Pro Solar either.

That said, I've always thought turn-by-turn voice prompts would be useful and a significant enhancement (both through headphones or through and attached smartphone setup with GCM). If you'd like to push the idea with Garmin, then this is the place to put it https://www.garmin.com/en-US/forms/ideas/

it's a pity that this does not exist. I was just not sure if I did not miss it. I have sent the "idea" to Garmin. It could be super simple ... like just say "in XX meters, turn left/right". Not more!

I know the watch itself will beep and vibrate when a turn is coming up, but is there a way for the beep to come through the headphones? Hopefully I am just missing an obvious setting.

No, not possible (so far). But this feature wasn´t announced/advertised for the F6 series...

Would be great if at least it was one beep for left turn and two beeps for right turn. When you have the watch on a mount on a bike and you listen to music you have to check the watch all the time. But even running ... If I could tell without looking at the watch when is the next turn and which way to go, it would be great. This should be easy to implement, no?

I completely agree. Seems like something simple to add that would give a ton of functionality. They already have other prompts directly from watch to headphones. I will submit an idea request for both the voice prompts and the beep prompts.

Garminion - Do you know if this is a feature of any other series?

As far as I know, this feature isn’t available on any Garmin wearable.

When I bought the F6 I did not look for this exact feature, but I guess I just assumed that it was built in. Not sure what the point is of having "Navigation" feature without some type of audible turn by turn guidance.
